SS Embroidered cap insignia

I posted this SS insignia a couple of weeks ago, in hope of getting your opinions on its chances of being authentic. I only received a few responses, with no definitive answer. I'm posting it again, and hoping someone might be able to say, yeh or ney. I have a nice old NCO Panzer side cap that this would look great on, but don't want to put a fantasy emblem on a totally authentic cap. Thanks in advance for your help. The embroidered eagle appears to be in a white cotton thread, as opposed to silver bullion.

It appears to have been cut from an original trapezoid insignia, this wouldn't sit right on a side cap in my honest opinion.
