This one sure is not one I would be interested in. The peak is mighty short not to mention look at not only the pleats but how the lining on top sits where the sides meet. Classic signs of a rebuild.

If you shoot the eagle and the skull seperate the details would be seen better. I do not like the skull. Shortly: If the insigna is fake..the cap is most likely fake.

But to be honest: I do not know about your cap....

My main concern was the fitment of the liner as well, which was also Robert H's. Plus it looks so synthetic in these photos. But in my inebriated state last night, I completely missed the sweatshield. I though it was missing, which was another red-flag in a cap in this good condition. There's actually a lot to like about this cap, and there are several little details I like to see. So I'm back on the fence with this one, and would need a hand's-on report to go either way. It's either a high-end fake by an informed faker (probably) or a muddled-with original (possibly). The badges look good to me. And it's just going to get tougher.

I just took a look at the pics again after I downloaded them so I can blow them up. Look at the front shot with the SB up. Not only is the pleating a mess but I am 99% sure the sweatband was replaced. I have seen much, much better via photos than in hand I found the flaws. If this one gives me a bad vibe just from these shots I can only imagine what I would find in hand.
