Edelweiss?

I would like to ask you what you think of this image:
what's on the left sleeve?
An Edelweiss?
Or an Old Member Chevron?

And what about the badge on the left breast pocket?

The badge looks like a nord front cross. It seems to be an SS soldier serving in Finland and then my guess is that the sleeve badge is actually an edelweiss. It seems to have a sharp corner though. Maybe it is an army version BeVo edelweiss.

Tunic looks like it might be made of tussian groundcloth or similiar duck type material.. nice foto..Billbert

I think it make be an SS type but maybe it's being distorted by the fold in the cloth.
