That's puzzling...I might be wrong but compare it with this one (post #76 and 77)
    in the fake insignia thread...
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=83489&page=6

A picture of the back might help but it does not look good to me...
hammerhead, bowling pin body (aka coke bottle) and bad claws...(or rather lack of...)

Is it even a flat wire (officer pattern) I wonder? Looks dull to me.... but it might just be the image...
I'll let the more experienced experts rule but my gut says run!

I removed my officer eagle picture after I read Bills text.
He is saying it is a silver grey woven NCO eagle, so this one should not get mixed up with the known SS officer style eagles.

The one pictured is a known fake ... Yes or No ?

It is on Bill Shea's website ... Yes or No ?

I have no axe to grind so let's not play the big dealer game here .... someone's made a mistake

That is an exceedingly well-known fake. Bill should absolutely know better.

Ian, there is no game going on here, I just stated that this is no Officer eagle as you can read. It is an EM eagle that is as Brad also mentioned a copy.

whats is good and what is not.

A number of years ago at the MAX show I had brought a HBT HG regiment tunic to sell that came directly from the vets family. It even had the HG cufftitle in one of the pockets. He looked at it and told me it was not right, had fake tabs and was all put together.
