The shoulder boards are nice a tight. You can see where 2 different pips are applied. This matches the other side as well.

Insignia looks real.. the tunic itself doesn't to my eyes, I don't believe it was SS, especially that strange collar collor

The collar is made of a tricot material. First time I have seen this. Doesn't mean that it is bad. I just have never seen tricot as a collar material.

                  Kreager,

Is the tunic made from Italian gabardine? Nice boards too. I have seen SS tabs originally applied that way many times. I would not write it off just yet.

Yes the Tunic and riding breeches are both Fine Italian gabardine.

                      i don't like tunic.
for sure not the work usual done on an official m36 in order to apply a strange green collar tab.

By strange, is it because of the trikot material? I agree it is different then the norm but I believe I've seen other, i believe Lorens has one with gabardine collar.

IMHO an original period tunic and original period breeches.
Perhaps the tunic was tailored in Italy (pre or post armistice) using Italian tricot wool, which could explain also the odd tricot green wool used on the collar facing, which is indeed very unusual....
or it was tailored in Germany using "beute" Italian wool... This of course because the "der Fuhrer" Regiment (Das Reich) never served in Italy, but perhaps if it was tailored in Italy, it could have belonged to a transferred LAH or RFSS officer...now in Der Fuhrer Reg. of Das Reich Div.
Who knows...? No owners tags or tailor tags?
The cuff title and the shoulderboards are good. The rank tab also looks promising, but I can not judge the runes tab... Sorry. but it does have a chance this piece! The ensemble indeed looks very promising!!!

Isn't this phony eagle that is posted in a different thread applied to this jacket? Anyhow I always wonder how to 100% a tunic can be examed by photos, there is more needed for. So I will hold my opinion way much back when there is this eagle applied to it, when this is the case who can say the rest is original sewn on? Original insignia apllied to an original tunic doesn't make it untouched period, and I have still my doubts about this one w/o further examination.

Regarding the questionable eagle, good eye (and memory)! = same owner, = same wool!!
I still like the uniform and shoulderboards...perhaps de-nazified...
so not untouched. That does not turn me off totally...
