                            With yours and peters help, it appears that cap is an early pre rzm allgemeine NCO cap.

                            Question still remains whether insignia is original and if wear is consistent from mint cap material and visor, and well worn interior and lining

                                On Post #18, notice how the inside side lining on your cap looks fresh, compared to the soiled sweatband that lays against it. Also notice how this lining looks freshly cut, instead of frayed like you'd expect on a cap with such a worn interior. (Compare with cap I posted). Look at Post #26, and notice how the wool is very fine, without showing the weave. Early caps should look like this, not loosely woven.
