SS stick pin by Otto Gahr

Earlier this month I purchased two SS stick pins. The members SS pin and the other the SS FM pin. I posted these on the forum but before I did that I did a search on SS pins to make sure they are ok which they are. While I was searching I came across this thread about SS pins made by otto gahr.

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=ss+stick+pin

It seems that SS pins made by this maker are extremely rare to find as John Pepera states. They are always made in silver and are much better quality than the Deschler type. Well I stumbled across one by accident on a dealers site amongst all his items. Of course not believing it to be genuine I as for better photos and compaped it to Johns' pin in the thread. I couldn't find anything wrong with it so I bought it. I must say having it in the hand one can see just how nicely made they are.

I can't see any problems with this one however, being a novice with SS stick pins I would like to hear from those who are more up to date with these. Could it be that luck has fallen my way?
    All comments are much appreciated.

    Regards,
    AB.

The last one. A comparison with the Hoffstatter pin.

1; Deschler did not make the SS Zivilabzeichen. Only Gahr/Hoffstatter.
2;You have found the "motherlode"An un numbered original Gahr
pin prior to the hand engraved number being applied. You can "smell"
the difference in quality from here.!!
                  Nice stroke of luck,well done.

                    Thanks Seiler.
                    Thats good news.
Yes I got confused with the FM pin which is stamped Deschler on the back. It was 2am!! I did correct myself in my last post though.

AB, What is the diameter of your Gahr pin? (in millimeters) I have the one by Hoffstatter and it's 14mm's. Here the Gahr pin looks larger than the Hoffsatter by several millimeters. In J.R. Cone's book he states his pin (which is now owned by John Pepera) is 14.5mm's. Maybe it's the way you took the picture. Nice find though. I've looked many years for an SS member's pin by Gahr.

                      Mike.

                          Hi Mike,
I´m away from home at the moment. Back early next week. I will give you the measurements then. From memory it was a tad over 14 mm. Bare in mind that my photo is a very close shot and the difference may seem a lot larger than it is.
                          I will get back.

                          Regards,
