Here is one of my visors, it is a Kleiderkasse variety made from Italian wool. This hat emerged with a uniform and paperwork from the woodwork about 20 years ago brought back by a vet from the war, he took it out from a house. It is an honest attributed combat visor, and aside from one moth hole at the peak is in decent worn condition.

Notice just the size stamp, sometimes the Kleiderkasse caps had a clear sweatdiamond with a paper size tab inside, but no trademark logo. This is just one hat I will utilize from my collection, since it has the classic "been there" and it realy was there!, I have others I can utilize to illustrate my point, but this is the one I already had images for, I am not about to embark on a photo session, just to show off my collection.

Although I still say a large majority of the fakes are maker marked I am sitting down in Florida right as we speak looking at a collection. There are a couple of good maker marked ones in here. In fact one is such a right as rain scream in your face seen action real one no one could discount it because of the mark. I still prefer Kleiderkasse though.

Fully agree with you, they do exist, but most would prefer the Kleiderkasse type, and certainly not moth eaten with re-stiched visors and sweatbands.

Even if you said that ss-visors with logo are much rarer than Kleiderkasse visors, I would still choose mine with logo because it looks better and .. it is rarer Don't you agree?

Everyone, has different taste. I am not about to get into any childish sandbox games and compare your hats to my hats, that is not the subject of this thread. Although I also have visors which look as new as the day they were made, I favor those with the "been there" look.

NTZ, do you prefer Kleiderkasse just because there are more fake visors with logo than without logo? For real can it be that with all your knowledge and experience you are still afraid of those fakes so much? Probably not.

Maybe you prefer Kleiderkasse visors only because they were purchased through Kleiderkasse/SS-distributors? I just really cannot get this "Logo/No-Logo" point. What is the difference? Does it make SS visor "more-SS" if it was purchased through Kleiderkasse?

Here is a link to an excellent thread on SS visors which is over a year old. Note the Kleirderkasse type of hats posted by Mike Davis, DougO, and others:

Ahh, so funny my man. No, if I were buying from pics only as most of us do with the internet age, I prefer Kleiderklasse. They are so much more easy to tell via a pic. In hand I don't care one way or another. I can inspect it and make a good choice. In hand it make no difference to me. Via pics since I know 90% of maker marked one will be bad anyway why bother? I will see if the owner of a maker marked I looked at tonight will let me post it. It is a screamer!!!! Very well worn. Gives me the chills!

I don't understand, you said the first cap posted was junk, but then you post a cap that it also moth eaten , made of italian wool (which used to be a red flag) piping in front above velvet looks loose and uneven (also used to be a red flag) and the sweat band is in far better condition then the rest of the interior.

You are kidding, right? I will not launch into a Dissertation about my visor which I posted. All the points you made are comical, and perhaps you should look a bit closer on your screen to the images I have posted. I would also study up a bit more on SS headgear before coming out with such ludicrous comments as Italian Wool/Gabardine being a red flag, that is a clear indication your knoweledge of such headgear is very limited. But that is OK, that is one of the reasons behind the existence of forums such as this. Also it helps to look, handle, and study old established collections, and a bit of reading does not hurt either. Good Luck!

I would love to see a close up of the piping, sweatband stitching, and sweatband leather..
