In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Thank to the both of you for posting such a rare tab! Do you know the history behind it?

Here is a Dnl tab from my collection. I know there is more out there, so please let us see one of the rarest collar tab types from the third reich period.

          Regards
          Øyvind

                  collar tab

Concerning post number 2, Did the Germans manufactured this collar tab? If they did not then why does it have a "RZM" tag on it ? The base material is something I have never seen before on German made collar tabs ? Quite interesting ?

For newcomers here is my set from a legion unterscharfuhrer.
Frw.legion Norwegen are among the rarest waffen SS kragespiegel to get, and as a complete pair it is almost none left in existence.

Im sure Derek or Bax have better answers regarding your question. I have inspected most of the known original Dnl-tabs here in Norway, and my impresion is that the tabs where made with diferent backing and cloth. However the tabs that Derek and Jotun have posted is the one that I have seen most of (thin cloth and thin backing plate).

The lions posted here is a standard Norwegian m/37 lion produced in Norway (the lion where still in use i Norway after the war). Some tabs also come with an embroided lion, and again, in several variations.
