    Waffen SS 2nd pattern parka

    I've gotten in trade the following;
    a well used (but not too abused) Waffen SS 2nd pattern parka.
    I would have prefered the 1st pattern "pull over" type,
    as I already own a fully buttoned 3rd (and final) pattern one in Italian camo...
    but its still a nice piece I think!
    This one is a survivor from Estonia (now located in the USA)

    Thoughts?

                  Here's a killer period image...a well known image from the Kharkov battle.
                  This is of course the 1st pattern; "pull over" type... Note matching pants even!
                  I wonder was the 2nd pattern also worn at Kharkov?

                  Any opinions on the Parka from Estonia?

                      I like this one The perfect condition to have IMO, plenty of historical value since it's been at the sharp end but fully intact with nice repairs. Enjoy, regards, Bill

                        Thanks! Here's another cool period image, an MG 42 heavy machine gun platoon, again the earlier "pull over" type...

                          These parkas were issued all the way to the very end. (this is a fully buttoned type)

                            Nick they are some great pics for sure. I like the anorak, it is identical to mine in italian pattern camo. I think they are a great piece of genuine SS cloth at still a realistic price, regards, John.

                              Thanks! I'll have it in my possession in less than 2 weeks. I'm thrilled to be able to get it! I also own the camo Italian one. Nick
