Checkit, please tell use the seller story etc. No one is making fun of you directly jsut the tunic etc. I am always interested in where these are coming from and what the stories are.

Well, the story is that this guy has had this uniform, which his uncle brought back, since the 60's. He decided to sell the tunic but keep the insignia, but would let the volunteer shield go for the right price. So the story itself didn't raise any flags, but -

The buttons are a mixed lot of various makers, and some are dug, so that made no sense at all, plus I agree that the aging is way overdone for a bringback uniform.

Uniform is guaranteed so hopefully there is no problem returning it.

Have you seen the insignia? I am also very sceptical about the uniform...The size stamps are also a big red flag for me but just curious if the insignia is real, if he even has the insignia and shown it?
(or just part of the questionable bring back story?)

That tunic might be 10 years old but I would guess 5. Total crap.

This is not going too well. The uniform was "guaranteed authentic", was returned November 28th, and remains in PayPal dispute. Seller has the uniform, and my money - says I can't "prove" it's not authentic. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that maybe PayPal will see things my way on this one.

I have found many years ago that if you return something and tell the dealer that it isn't authentic, you get into a pissing contest with them... you are insulting their integrity and knowledge and they get angry and that holds up the refund process. I always tell the dealer some other story but never tell him that it's a POS fake. It only stirs hard feelings.
