Question on Polizei who are SS members

My question would be as to the SS Runes worn below the left pocket of the tunic indicating SS membership. Would the person in question have to be a member of the RSHA in order to wear those runes or would/could they also just be Allgemeine SS members??

Hi Tim, he was a rural policeman who was a member of the SS. I have to tell your that the tunic looks to be in immaculate condition but the ss runes patch, from the pictures, looks to be pretty worn. You may want to have someone better versed in tunics than I to look at that. Sonny
