    SS pennant eagle?

I've had this around for a very long time, and have only seen a couple other examples to compare it to. Recently, one very similar to the example I have was added to the Collectors Guild website:

Is this truly the intended purpose for these eagles? I have heard this story in the past, and I have also heard stories about them being used on sport shirts - which is correct? Does anyone have an example on a command flg/pennant or on a sports shirt to share? Maybe a pic somewhere that shows them in period use?

I'd just like to know definitively what they were intended for . . .

    Thanks,

    Brad

Front side shot just indoors - it's funny how sunlight reflects off of the thread in different lighting environments . . .

          Brad,

This is a post-war copy of the eagle for the Reichsautozueg armband.

I think they made these in the 60s or 70s? I do know that you can buy them as fakes from guys that have "old new stock" for a few dollars each and they usually glow, unless somebody has dipped them in tea, or aged them in a urinal (I hear they do this with fake armbands), to get the glow out, then again the earlier fakes probably would not glow and you do see them offered as real but in my view definately rubbish.
