Method of construction/cut looks as it should, but there so many details that one must look at which these photos dont address that I would not say one way or another. AS with anything SS, unless it just jumps right out, I assume FROM PICS ALONE that most ss items offered up are suspect, and they must be thoroughly inspected to make a decision. My SS stug wrapper is also inissued, but it has a history dating back to the early 70's, and meets all the criteria I look for, otherwise I wouldnt have bought it. The pants which came with it I thoroughly also believe are of SS manufacture, and also are minty crisp. Some people saw pics of the one I bought and were scared off "too new", however, Grant Bias just posted a thoroughly unissued mint crisp Palm smock which he describes as it looks like its been kept in a bottle, and many items out there just look that way, MOST however don't. I have an unissued Para smock that is beyond reproach and looks like it came out of the factory yesterday, not a scratch, pull, mar ding on it, no rust on the snaps, it too looks like it was put in a cotton sack and kept sealed away from dust, light, bugs, etc. Some were well taken care of, and look like they were made a week ago, but obvioiusly were not.

This in not a plug for Weitze, but I have bought items from him which I like, have seen others for sale which I don't like. Last I bought, he had a six month no question return policy, where else do you find that? In six months, you can stay at home, eat drink sleep next to the tunic, study it every wakingmoment, show it to your buddies at a couple of shows that invariably pop up in six months, post the hsit out of it on the fourms, and when the smoke clears in six months you should be able to make an informed decision, keep it or no thanks send my money back, so unless it gets lost in the mail, or Weitze files chapter 7, are you not protectd? I could be wrong on his return, as I havn't purchased there in a long time, but if he does offer a decent policy, then what have you to lose except the interest you would generate in the bank today which is next to zero? When I look at the tunic, personally, I dont get a warm fuzzy feeling and I typically go with my intital gut impression, which has been mostly correct, but that being said, again, there is not a lot of it shown in any depth.

Points taken Scott, but what you're out despite his stellar return guarantee is money. A jacket like this, from Weitze to you and then back to him, will run you at least $100 in postage. His guarantee is just to lull people into believing he's a stand-up guy. He may be a nice guy too, but his wares are too tainted for me to give them any serious consideration. His Fliegerbluses and wrappers are always in the same relative condition, oftentimes found with cuff titles, cloth badges, etc. All insignia is applied in the same manner on every piece. I look at item after item and wonder how he has acquired them with such regularity. In 30 years of collecting (spent five years in Germany alone) I have found a total of three Fliegerbluses with cuff titles. This same approach can be applied to wrappers. Yet nowadays all we have to do is stop at Wacky Weitze's Rare Uniforms and get whatever our hearts desire. No thanks.WAF LIFE COACH

To find an original UNTOUCHED German WW2 tunic today is not impossible.
To find an original UNTOUCHED Waffen-SS tunic today is VERY difficult.
To find an original Waffen-SS wrap-around-tunic today in almost impossible.
To believe that dealers can offer SUPERRARE tunics several times every year, year in and year out, is stupid.
IMO.

Seeing more SS STUG wrappers than black ones these days is also troubling.

SS Stug
Barzini, I spent the whole Max show trying to determine whether a ss stug I bought was good. It came from a very reputable dealer. I was with very experienced tunic collectors and ss insignia collectors and at the end of the day had far too many opinons on the wrap. I returned it and got my money back with a very good lesson.
