I found this while surfing the web!
The story is that a collector/dealer from Michigan got this one (directly or indirectly) from... off all places,
a vintage clothing store in Detroit! WOW!! Probably not too expensive either!
There are only a handfull of these known in the world (like 5?)

As its moved down hill from the clothing store the caps price has increased like a snowball into an avalanche..possibly the most expensive (and desireable )third reich SOFT headgear out there..JMHO Billbert

Very creative way of addressing the camo question as with other items produced! Just reverse it.

The Michigan fellow needs to update his site as he still has it listed as being available but for trade only...
and I was going to find out what trades would be considered....oh well, probably WAY out of my league!!!

Freikorps Danmark

Don´t know, if this is one of the five out there.
At least ten years ago, I took these pics in Denmark.
The guy got the cap, a 38 Palm Smock, Ärmelstreifen and a matching pair of StGw 44 Magazintaschen from a Freikorps Danmark-Vet!
Where might it be now...?

The one in Denmark is one of the four that I know of. The others belong to Dave Delich, Willi Schumacher and now Bob Hritz. I've heard some rumors about a possible fifth but won't elaborate until something concrete comes through.
