Thanks guys for the info. I have checked all the threads on the marked buttons under the jewellers loupe and compared them to the zinc button threads and they are identical, the cuff buttons even have the same piece of thread going through both buttons. The parka has no depot repairs either although it does have wear and some holes. I am very sure that all the buttons are originally sown ( I am a thread nazi!!) as every button stitching matches 100% . Maybe a few were fitted with whatever they had at the time? Best regards, Bill

It would be highly unusual, although not impossible.

To say something for sure is in fact impossible based on these pictures.

        Cheers

          Hello Bill,
The A-SS buttons can be quite factory sewn on the Parka, the factorys sewn at the time also this type of buttons in the white camo side, the factory recicled a lot of early buttons on this SS Parkas they can be in different styles, and almost always only in the white side.
I have a mint Blurred edge parka with all A-SS buttons in the white side.
No worries sure a nice SS Camo winter parka.
          congrats

Hi Bill, looks like Lorenz knows what is what with these. Although all 3 of my WSS Oak parkas have non marked type buttons on them, i have handled yours first hand and there is NO DOUBT that these buttons are original to the parka I just wish it would make its way into MY parka collection. The best overall Oak B Autumn parka i have seen first hand for sure, regards mate, John.

Thanks Lorenz, I was certain these were all originally sown as I am VERY particular on thread. Many regards to all who responded, Bill
