Hello all,

Just in from a business trip to a place with limited internet. Thanks for the comments!

Doug - not cheap and I had to think twice...but I do like the set. There is a portrait of Morgenbrod and his wife where he is wearing an obvious W-SS officer's tunic...and another, during his training, where he is standing in front of a 88mm while wearing an enlisted M40 tunic, with EM insignia and a blank rank tab - but with an officer's side cap and belt and buckle(??).

That is incredible. You have (and have had) some stunning WSS items in your collection - and a decerning eye for quality. This is definately is premier stuff.

It goes to show there are some specatular gems in private collections waiting to be shared / passed on.

In this hobby, it is less about the money - it is really about developing and nurturing the right network and relationships (usually between collectors rather than collectors and dealers).

In my opinion, this is very difficult to do as most high end collectors generally keep to themselves. It takes years of dedication to your areas of interest, maturity with respect to the relationships one needs to nurture, persistance in maintaining presence/credibility within this network, and earning trust within this exclusive (and elusive) community.

P.S. I would be happy to own the tunic from Weitz and have no issues with the tunic that started this thread.
