This must be a rare one. Does anyone have one of these?

I have the book "Damals" with dust cover and want to trade or sell it on the E-stand.

Just did a google search and got a bit scared seeing the price asked online. Is it really THAT rare? (675 dollar)

I put the Damals book up on the e-stand, but maybe better post another message here too, as don't think the books section there gets many visits? (Sorry for the crossposting)

More ontopic: besides the very well known SS Leithefte, i ran into a similar looking booklet with #1, only this time it was from the SA. Did the SA also issue their own "Leithefte"? I have never encountered one before and can't find anything about it anywhere. It has a brown cover and looks in appearance exactly the same as the the SS Leithefte. How rare are these SA booklets? (Will post a picture in a few days, not at home at the moment).

                            best regards,
                            Gaston

                              Hi,

i own two "Damals" books (including dust cover) in very good condition, bought in 2011 for around 200 to 220 Euros each.
If you google a rare SS book, you will find them on usmbooks, od43, and a few other websites, including some mad sellers from abebooks/zvab. The prices proposed are usually x2 up to x6 the "normal" prices you can find from other fellow collectors. The "Damals" book on usmbooks is listed for more than 2 years... (nota : the book is signed as a jullfest gift, adding a bit to the value).

The interest of the "Damals" book is the various pictures of non combattant rear units of the division (imo).

One of the rarest "pictural" books is imo "Sommer 43", also released by the "Totenkopf".
I can also think of "SS im Kampf", published by Nordland Verlag.

                              See You

                              Vince

As a general rule: when it comes to paper, SA is less valuable(costs less) than SS in exactly the same way SS costs more in all other venues of collecting.

I have some SA mini magazines (more like small newpapers) and they do not command much value, nor even interest to the general collecting public.
