What are some rare books from the period written by or for the SS. I the poll i have is the books I can recall of the top of my head. What do you consider to be the rarest. Also will change the poll if needed, if the book brought up seems rare enough to be put on here.

I guess the most rare is: SS Sippenbuch,
then the SS Familien Chronik
then the SS Familie
why? because in my years of book searching these are the ones least offered.
the first two I have never found for sale. Not once,--- EVER.
the SS familie I know of 3 for sale in the last 2/3 years
All the others do comeup for sale every year or so
I base this on scarcity not necessarily price (although price and scarcity can be related)
I have found the most often for sale book is the Soldaten Freund..I am not knocking them, mind you...I just could have bought a lot more of them than any of the others.
As I understand the Sippenbuch was part of the SS home "traditions" corner, I suspect they were more often destroyed by the owners or hidden securely by those who owned them. I would posit there was less extremely personal feelings towards the Soldaten freund or Damals, etc. And so they would have escaped the attentions of an SS family more than the Sippenbuch.
Oh yes, if anyone did not want to advertise their familie's tie to the SS, they would get rid of a book called " SS Sippen Buch" as that translate as "the book of the Clans of the SS" or just "SS Clans book"! not what you might want around the house during the fall, or the occupations.

I have the book «Vlaanderen te Weer !» in my collection. It was published by the SS-Kriegsberichterzug «Langemarck» in Prag on the end of 1944. The book tells the history of the Flemish volunteers, from the Frw.Legion «Flandern» to the SS-Freiw.Sturmbrigade «Langemarck». An other collector told me that there are only five of these books known to exist in German and Dutch. The pictures:

Gahr book and friends

Well if we talk about rare books in the non-TR era category, then all three of these are hard to get, but the Gahr book is the hardest indeed.
I have only seen 3 or 4 for sale in 8-9 years. About 5 years ago some German book sellers were offering xeroxed copies of the book for 100 dollars, proudly explaining that it was great they offered the copies as it was unattainable in the original.Attached Files
