    Pair of SS Collar Tabs

    Hi there,

I'm not new to the forum but am new to this area. I collect WW2 signed photos of Knight's Cross winners. Not why I'm here though. I picked up these and wondered what you thought. Unused, still stitched together, the thread in silver is worn but in good nick. The reverse and everything looks good, they are clearly old. What do you think? Not my thing and I am willing to sell.....

Fake. Sorry. The backing is the main giveaway, as well as the piping. This type was made many years ago and came out of the Midwest.

OK. Thanks. I'll steer clear. I was offered them on sale or return whilst I checked them out by a friend who normally only sells WW1 militaria. Some guy came in with a few bits of SS gear including an Officers Belt Buckle and EM Buckle along with these and some others. He was an old boy who said he was with 2 Para at Arnhem!! Lying swine! I thought the backs looked dodgy when I saw other examples on the internet...Very good quality copies though.

Also, when they reached this grade, the tabs were velvet backed not wool as this one looks like.

                  Hi Greg,

They are on black velvet, not wool. Steve
