I had seen one SS helmet, with a camo cover that was badly damaged and missing clips or no clips, that has chicken wire over it. The helmet was brought into one of my ads, in the early 1980s, and was not for sale. The veteran's son only wanted a price evaluation. I offered him a large amount, but he was adamantly not selling. He has some cut off SS cloth his dad brought back. I was sorry to have missed that, but I believe they are in fine hands with his son.

I am not even sure the camo was a helmet cover, after all these years. It could well have been a field made cover. It was authentic and it was fantastic.
