    VERY Salty SS NCO Sidecap

My latest has arrived! This piece is beat, but looks like all wartime beating. The insignia has settled very well into the base material, and the liner has worn out in places (mainly in the rear, where a close haircut would rub).

It has a barely legible tag with initials in the top fold, and no legible markings on the liner. The top has wonderfully worn smooth wool, with nice thick nap under the foldback flaps.

The insignia are really impressive. The silver wire insignia would be appropriate for an NCO. The soustache holes in the front are very visible - I wonder what color it was?

Too salty for some, but this beast looks untouched and obviously did lots of service. I know some folks prefer mint, but this cap has some real character that really appeals to me. Thanks for looking! s/f Robert

This is what a high-and-tight haircut does to liners if you just keep wearing them!

I like worn field used hats and caps.

                    Congratulations, Robert.
