    Aluminum SS Cap Eagle

Picked this one up at a local antique flea market today. I was happy to get it as I did not have this example in my collection.

      nice looking bird pete
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Time permitting, I'd pay $2,000.00 for a bird like that. Congrats!

If I could chose one eagle only for my collection this one would be the one!

Thanks for sharing this lucky find!

                Stunning.

It does make you wonder if Peter is just extremely lucky to have found a one-in-a-million piece or whether there is still a fair amount of TR material sitting in attics and basements, which the owners (or their relatived) still see as old junk. Now that the WWII generation is passing away, I bet there are boxes and boxed of their souvenirs hitting the trash bins on a fairly regular basis and only a small percentage makes it to dealers' shops, flea markets, and garage sales.

Very Nice Eagle Peter! Brad there is still a ton of stuff still out there.
I buy stuff out of the woodwork a couple times a week. I find cigar boxes with unissued Herr eagles all the time. One day I will find a box full of skulls and eagles that are unissued

I was with peter at the flea market when this eagle turned up, it
was just lying there on the table with a few other third reich items.
The vender said he just bought the stuff from a vet. I've been to
this flea market many times over the years and never found anything,
it just shows that you never know what might turn up.

The use of 2 different pin mounting methods is interesting. That's good to know.
