    Adolf Hitler Officer's cuff title opinions please

    Hello fellows, I would like your opinions on this cuffband. The white base material inside the wire thread does not glow. There are seven strand borders on the edges, I will provide pictures. Is there anything to look for on these to help determine authenticity?

    Thanks,

    John

                      ...also, I understand that the bullion on the repros is made from synthetic thread...how can I test for synthetic thread, thanks, John

                        John,
                        from the pictures it looks ok,

                        "...also, I understand that the bullion on the repros is made from synthetic thread...how can I test for synthetic thread"

                        try and find the end of a stand on the back and use a cigarette lighter to see if the thread melts or burns, you do not have to get the flame on the thread if you bring the flame close to the end of the thread and it is polyester it will melt into a ball and when cool will not crush
                        cheers,
                        Gary

                          Hi John;

                          I have no problem with the band. The bullion looks correct, the letters are very well executed, the band looks to have the correct weave....and every other point I look for appears to be there.
                          Best regards,

                          Tony

                            HI Gary and Tony, thank you guys very much for the information...

                            Gary: Do I do that burn test on the bullion or on the black thread that stitches the ends together, or the reinforcment backing onto where the bullion letters were sewn, or yet even on the actual black base material? My friend said that the bullion was metallic as it feels cold to the touch but I do not know if a synthetic material would be cold to the touch also and I would imagine the white core of a metalic bullion material could be synthetic.

                            Thank you guys,

                            John
