Dachau clothing depot

Hi,

I've just bought some SS insignia's and the seller told me that they from the Dachau clothing depot.
Can somebody tell me more about this depot?

Someone else told me that the Dachau depot was found in the ''70/''80 and they discover a lot of SS insignia's.
Is that true?

Not in the 1970's, but found in quantity in 1945 by liberating GI's.

If you do a search on the net you will find pictures of Dachau and plans of the complex. But do not expect to find pictures with piles of insignia inside the buildings.

I've seen one or two pics, but nothing really clearly documenting the interior of the facility or the complete contents. We can piece together what was there by examing what veterans brought back. Do a search and you'll find lots of Dachau groupings here on the forum...
