Two single LAH shoulder boards - Comments please

    Hi,

I am posting these shoulder boards for review. These are currently for sale as part of a commission sale. Could you please review both the LAH slip on’s as well as the shoulder boards. These are the only pictures I have.

(Just in order to keep the formalities I have verified with the dealer hosting the pictures before posting.)

    Thanks for all comments.

I have serious doubts about the shoulder straps themselves. As far as I can tell from these pictures, the embroidered LAH ciphers are not good. The second straps sports Luftwaffe NCO tress (I think that is Luftwaffe, definitely NOT SS). Now I have seen shoulder straps with other than SS tress; however, I would expect these to have SS tress if the LAH cipher was directly embroidered onto the strap. I would pass on these.

Serious doubts about the both LAH-monograms. IMO the stitching is not thick enough. I would pass on them.
As Bob has stated: tresse on the second one is Luftwaffe.

The board with the signals piping appears to have been taken apart. The LAH logo is not direct embroidered on the board. It appears in post #5, that it was taken apart and had a fake cypher sewn on to the top, sewn back together, and then the tresse added to hide the cypher addition. You can see the bump in the tresse where it goes over the add on. May have actually been a real board to start with and the piping may not originally have been on it either.

Agree, bad cyphers. First board looks rather odd to me, as in fake.

I have seen Luft tresse on quite a few SS boards, I don't think it is that unusual.
