    A-SS shoulder board opinion.

    Hi,

Here with some A-SS shoulder board, I've already my own opinion but it's always better to have more.

    - A = 144 mm
    - B (38/38) = 152 mm

    Thank you.

I see few problems with these boards themselves. RZM tags seem to be originals from the pictures. (better photos needed to tell for sure) Two of them attached with machine stitching that IMO is quite rare. Some collectors say this form of attachment is totally ok and common. I might not personally be a worshipper of the latter.

                Boards

Personally, I prefer seeing paper RZM tags on shoulder boards.

On the early boards of course there would be cloth RZM tags, as well on the collar tabs and some sleeve eagles. It all changed around 1938 when they switched to paper tags.

I am sorry this is a little off topic but did the waffen ss panzergrenadier units use grass green pipeing on the shoulder broads or white?

                    Regards

Felix is correct. You will not find a cloth tag dated later than 1938. After that, paper tags became the norm. That being the case, there are many allgemeine shoulder boards with cloth tags.

Did all pre-38 boards have tags? Or were they also made tagless? How do you determine an early from late tagless board?
