            Eagle

Yes, I think good . It reminds me of a bullion eagle that I have. I believe it may be a cap eagle. Is yours smaller as well?

This is my example of a bullion hat eagle, used and worn, but still very nice.

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

                    Yes, Arran, it is gilt.

                      Hi Bob,
Can you see any evidence of a cardboard template under your gold bullion eagle?

                      Thanks,
                      Arran.

                        Hello Arran,

Yes, there is a cardboard template under the eagle. From this phot, you can see it under the wreath and under some of the underwing edges.

I don't want to twist the eagle, but where it is lightly flexed, you see the cardboard.

Its a beauty, Bob; I've only ever owned one of these, in aluminum...

                          Cheers,
                          Arran.

Sadly, it was removed from an army (Heer) general's hat that had a standard metal skull. Back in the old days, the hat was restored back to army. A piece of history lost, forever.

The collector who did this never forgave himself and neither of us have ever been able to track down the hat. Of course, it would make little difference after the new holes were poked through for army insignia.
