I think the "pin" has been replaced.
In every piece I own and I have seen, the pin is a very fragile flat one, not rounded.

The badge arrived today.
The pin has not been replaced.
It is thin and flat.............just looks round in the photo because it is shown 'edge-on'.
The badge is silvered aluminium.
