    I'm in the wrong job.....................

I should be a militaria seller.

This thing got 4600 (yes, that's four thousand, six hundred) Euros in a recent auction in Germany.

    This got 830 Euros.

There were dozens of similar 'bargains' that were snapped up at that auction.

I wonder who the buyers were?

That bad camo cap was sold at the Hermann-Historica auction, right?
They auctioned off the Pocket of Royan museum inventory last month.
Here 2 more "gems" from that auction (which I had posted earlier!)

            Correct, Nick.

Hermann Historica usually has great stuff, all top notch quality.

I don't know how they got involved in selling some of these items from that museum.

            Still, buyer beware, I suppose.

BTW the realized auction result prices exclude the auctioneer's commission, so add another 23% to those high Euro prices! OUCH! It appears that they pulled the camo cap image...I can't find it on their site now...
Trying to hide something? I agree usually their material is always top notch!

Here is the thing Robin....prepare yourself now for some more John Pic contraversy....ready.....If you or I were to sell stuff like that openly and make money on it we would be tarred and feathered. But some of the guys that get away with itand make lots of money, have lots of friends who like to post on forums.

I would want an SS camo M-43, with insignia, to look like this:

I see Bob got something that makes him more then happy. It is a wonderful cap that many would dream about that is for sure.
The insignias allone in green and brown matching and used are allone absolutely rare.

Including Herman Historica, It's called fraud ,not buyer beware when a supposed expert auction house is peddling .

If an established jeweler sells you a diamond for more than its worth than that's debatable. If he sells you a piece of glass instead of a diamond than that is fraud.
