    SS Greatcoat

    hi,
is a SS greatcoat on ebay, $500.(opening bid) It has look of an original coat I think. Can see where the sleeve eagle was. The size stamps are
    41 41
    90
118 83 They dont add up to me at least if 118cms is the length would have been a short soldier. Anyhow feedback appreciated.
    cheers Robert

                Robert,

The greatcoat is mine and is all original. Ebay have now pulled the listing; interesting to see how long it would last.

The interpretation of the size marking is:

41 (bust/neck to waist length) 41 (neck size)
                90 (chest size)
118 (garment length) 83 (sleeve length)

So the length from shoulder to bottom edge is 118cm. The fit was for a 90cm chest so not a large size by modern standards, but quite large by early-mid 20th century standards.

                Mike
