Reason this one out. First, why would a Grossdeutschland cufftitle have an SS RZM tag? Grossdeutschland was an army unit, not SS. Then look at the cut of the tag. Even if it isn't obviously fake, the way it is cut out should give you immediate pause. Finally, look at the construction of the cufftitle. Ever see an original embroiderd one that was NOT folded over on the back? These three "clues" should be enough to tell you it is a piece of crap!

          Welcome

          Hello Brian,
Welcome to the Forum. There is a search function at the top and also a pinned fake items thread. These are excellent tools to utilize as well as posting questions and items for review.

If I were just starting in the field of SS collecting, I would spend a few hours on line getting a fundamental knowledge of the organization. I would also purchase some books to acquaint myself on SS; and in general, Third Reich Insignia. This can be a very expensive learning curve if you do not avail yourself of the means to further your education in this hobby.

Again, welcome to the hobby and Forum.

          Sincerely,

          Charles Betz

            Brian-
Welcome To Wa. I Would Strongly Urge You To Heed Charles' Suggestion To You. It Was Evident From Your Question That You Are New To This. Remember, We All Started From Scratch At Some Time. When I Started, There Were No Reference Books And Knowledge Was Spread Verbally. Today, The Forums And Investment In A Good Library Are Important For A New Collector.

              Betz-

I spend about 4 hours a night online reading and looking at stuff for sale online. I'm slowly learning. This forum is sooo helpful!

I'm planning on going to the library tommorow to check out some books.

              thanks for the tips!
