    SS Collar tab

    Hello friends.

On behalf of a good friend of mine i would like some comments on this SS collartab. I've tried to find a tab close to this already on the forum, but with limited success.

Any comments on this one is warmly appreciated

Heres a pic of the reverse side of this SS collartab.

As with almost all such tabs theres a story that this originally belonged to a norwegian volunteer, but no provenience so far to back this up.

    Any comments on this tab?

Interesting enough this St. Olafs cross also was part of this lot containing the aforementioned SS collartab.

A rather unusal variant since this variant is embroided cotton, produced in Norway, and smaller than the more usual encountered BEVO-type St. Olafs cross. Also theres a difference in measurements: the cotton type measures 4 cm in diameter, and its BEVO counterpart measures 5 cm in diameter.

Could this cotton-type be an earlier variant of the St. Olafs cross?

Any suggestions and comments would be warmly appreciated

Thanks gentlemen for your respond to this tab. Much appreciated!

Any chance that this tab could be some form of Dachau-type?

There was a tab made with that design stitching, and in fact is somewhat rare. The one I owned some years ago had rayon thread that made the runes.
