    ss armband help !!

    Hi all ,
Was wondering about this armband , is it original or not ? did they sew them on the tunic ? This one has snaps sewn on with the letters KINO on them . It is made of cotton with a embroidered swastika . I looked at several other threads and did not find anything like it . Sorry for the poor pictures .
I Thank You for Your Help !!!

        Armband

It could be real, but is not the standard for sure. I am more concerned about the piping seen on the collar tabs. Could be a problem there.
        Regards, Peter

          Hi Peter ,
The tunic it is on is a fake along with the collar tabs . The collar tabs have a cardboard backing . But the armband looks good to me , but I do not get much of a chance to see or handle to much of for sure original ss insignia . Another dealer that I trusted said that the armband and cufftitle was good , But he started to pass off some junk so I am in dought if he knew what he was doing . Here is a pic of the FAKE Collar tab .
          I Thank You !!!

              SS Uniform

              Dave,
The armband may be a standard party armband made into SS by adding the black stripes. I would avoid these items. Also, German snaps are typically marked "prym".

                Peter ,
I didn't think about the armband being a standard party with the stripes added . I have had this uniform for a few years I got it when I was first starting back into collecting military . O well I should have known better . I imagine the cufftitle and shoulder board is fake as well . I will post them in the future .
Thanks Peter for all your help !!!

                    armband

                    Hi all !
Well I took the armband off the uniform for a better look and took some better pictures . It has been resized the original stiching was done with cotton thread and the stripes were on it then . the new thread is all nylon . I scaned the seam to show the resizeing . It would be only 14" long if it was not sewn together .
Thank You Peter and Dav for your help !!!!

Kino is German movie stock uniform, is it from DDR or BRD? DDR used much original stock uniforms and insignia for films but would put together awful uniforms if they could not find the proper original for the scenes required. It can be original armbad and bad insignia on the same uniform.
