Gmax offers repros, and they're quite close.

This is a gorgeous original though!

The Kharkov anorak was only issued to the SS on the Eastern front. Italian clothing was widespread to SS and Heer depending on theatre of operation and division.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but technically this is a parka and not an Anorak.

                        Waffen-SS Italian Type Parka

                        Hello,

I bought such a parka a year ago from a very old collection. Several comrades also told me that the one I've got is a good one. My parka is exactly the same as yours. So I think you can say that you've got a good one.

This type of Parka was used by the Waffen-SS. For so far that I know: not by the Wehrmacht. I know that a same type of anorak/parka exists, but with another color, It looks like grey-blue. Anyway, two of my comrades ha've such a grey-blue one. The'se types we're used by the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS. But there is a different between the grey-blue anorak/parka for the Waffen-SS and the grey-blue one for the Wehrmacht.

I hope that this helps you .

Is it possible to let me know how much such parka costs ? I've payed my one 600,-Euro in 2007. Was this a good price ?

                        Regards,
                        Kenny.

I have seen at least 3 of these floating around in my area in the past year or so. I realize that the SS used Italian camo and I have seen several photos of these used in Italy or the Balkans. My question is how many were produced in Italian fabric? I know that there must be factory lists. It seems odd that there would be more of these than the Green ones. They all seem to have the same mix of faded and new cloth in their production, were the Germans using shelter quarters and not cloth on the bolt?

                            Kameraden,

SM Wholesale is making some kick ass reproduction Italian Camouflage. It's so good it's scary! At this point in time I do not know how the reproduction cloth with fade or age. Hopefully, badly!

As far as these type 2 parkas go, I'm not really too worried about getting reproductions confused as originals. The details are just not there, yet. Wrong wind cuff material, lack of vents, lower pocket construction, ext.

For example, a GMAX I handled had no vents, the camo was post war, lower pocket was all wrong, fur was a dead giveaway and no storm flap.

I'm much more worried about the trousers he is making.

                            Sepp

Ok,,,I know I have only been a member for a year or so and an associate member for only about a week, but this is like the 10th question Ive asked with no replies whatsoever,,,so again...this is not an Anorak is it? Is it not a parka? I always thought that technically the mountain pullover was the Anorak?
No sarcasm at all...I just want to know.I am never ashamed to admit I may be wrong and would rather be corrected than repeat the same mistake over and over again...Danke,Norbert
