    ss sleeve eagle cardboard backings

    Hi all !!
    Here are a couple of sleeve eagle card board backing . These are in a sample book from the Franz Glomm company of Berlin .

    How were these used exactly? I never understood, did the thread go over them??? What's the difference between the 2?

      The top one looks correct to me, but I think the lower one is for a Heer eagle who has had his "wings clipped"...

        Hi Arran .
        I looked at the Heer eagle in the samples and it is the same except for the cliped wings . I figure that it may be for a heavy bullion type eagle and the other was for a lighter thread more detailed eagle . That is my guess . I have another posting of more in the wehrmacht uniform section .
