SS Jacket, real or not

Hi guys well a buddy of mines trying to sell me this SS Gestappo Jacket to me for $6000.00 first of all is that a good deal for this? Also he says he got it from his dead father who had a big collection. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. The SS forum is certainly better to discuss. IMO though, I do not like the white powdery look of the jacket, seems dusted to look older. Also, it seems every fake piece of cloth starts out as "It came from an old large collection". Believe the piece through investigation and not the story. I need more to make a judgement myself. Just my 2 cents worth. Mike.

My first impression, without even thinking about whether it's real or not, is that it looks bad, and I woudn't want it in my collection. My second thought is that if SS uniforms look this bad, who would collect them, esp. at $6000?

This one is bad from the start. If it was Gestapo or SD like the cuffband indicates, it would have a blank collar tab, no runes. Run away from this and anything else that comes from your friend's father's collection if this is an indication.

Theres alot of people who do not like to post items of their collection be they textbook or non textbook 100% good items for obvious reasons but then again theres many old and big collections jam packed full of lots of fakes!

The rune tab has to be blank indeed, but ive also never seen such cuff title,i cant read it that well by the photo.
Does it say SD-Hauptquartier?
Aren't the black lines on the armband out of place?
