Did the SS wear HBT or converted WH tunics??

I was asked this question by a friend and didn't know the answer for him...

Did the SS wear 4 pocket M-40 HBT uniforms or converted WH tunics instead of the standard SS cut tunic throughout the war years? Does anyone have any photos showing these in wear?

    Thanks!

There was 1 at the Pomona show last week. There are 2 photos of it in the 'Show' forum. As far as the other questions, I'd be better off leaving them to others with more knowledge.

10 km of my house an HBT jacket, 4 pocket came off the attic. My father got that one of the people about 15 years back. With SS eagle original on the sleeve.

Here's the picture Mike's talking about...Photo taken in Pomona by JimB.
Its an early 5 button drillich fatigue jacket which has been modified!
        I like it A LOT!!

Looks like it was converted with French cuffs and pockets added on top and pocket flaps added on the bottom with added pocket pleats to match the breast pockets!
Slightly different material has been used for this conversion. The tunic probably still has the cloth waist belt, or at least tunnel for it, still in place!

Note also no belt support holes, its definately a converted work tunic!
Red areas is (wartime) added, blue areas = original configuration!
