SS tab for review.

Hello,
Another piece that has come my way. There is a big C on the far left of the label. The number looks like 171242 and there is a light ink stamp between the RZM and SS that looks like 242. It looks to have been taken off of a uniform. What do you think good or bad?

Yes, the backing does seem to be felt. Is this an officer version?

The tab and the tag look very good to me, too, CR. In the first pic
it looks kind of wavy along the top edge. Examine it closely and see
if there is any traces of where gimp cord may have been stitched around
the edges. If so then it was probably an officer tab. The runes are certainly officer-quality. If not it was probably senior NCO.

There was either a cord around this tab or it was worn at one point. The wavy look is some damage where the cord was removed or the tab was taken from a tunic. I can not tell which.
