SS cap eagle with RZM M3/40??????

Is this a known fake?

I got offered an eagle with backside marking RZM M3/40.

I never heard from an eagle with M3, eagles should have a M1 or contract number, I thought.

I later will get some pictures and add them.

Did one of you heard about that?

M1 denotes metallic insignia. M3 is for plaques, flag pole tops, office signs and the like.

I think you need not look further at this eagle.

This cast slug bears no resemblance to any original SS visor hat eagle in pattern or manufacturing technique.

Yes, this eagle is very obviously an exceptionally bad reproduction. As a matter of fact, I don't even think I've ever seen another quite so exceptionally so.
