Hi,
I'm in the process of selling my honor ring and have posted it in the classifieds. Several members have emailed me asking general questions about the ring and also about it's authenticity. It's been given the thumbs up on gd.com and I'm happy to discuss it here - and add the pics which may serve as a useful reference.
The link to the classifieds is here,

But for sake of good order I'll post up the pictures again. With the help of both Raymond and John P Moore we were able to identify the recipient as the following -
Giebel, Wilhelm
SS Nr: 170,185
Partei Nr: 1,267,496
Rank (1938) Untersturmführer (12.9.37)
9. Standarte
A Städtliche Vollziehungs Beamte in the town of Lippehne in the former district of Prussia. His position translates as some kind of city enforcement official, maybe a code inspector. His Führerkarte shows that he was an NCO in the military home guard from 36-40 and entered the Waffen-SS in January 1945.
Pictures to follow !
