EM TOTENKOPF - I personally removed this item from a vets photo album which was given to me by his wife along with all his US WWII service medals. A truly great catch. Look at the detail on the teeth. Crisp. As always, your comments and thoughts!! More SS items to follow.

Great example for many years people did not believe these were period items as the TK is so different from the normal type war time pattern.
These are also reproduced but the above example is not one of them,
Nice find,
I have a picture somewhere of this type of tab being worn I will go look for it now!
cheers,
Gary

Great picture!! Thanks!! I was curious about this tab as I knew unequivocally it was period, but it did not contain the "lines" I normally see in the skull of EMs usually displayed on this forum. Do either you or Tony have any background info? Is this an early design worn by a kz guard or is it later, 3rd division?

Hello Dylan,
Here is another photo, taken from one of the Concord Waffen SS photobooks, showing a Totenkopf division officer wearing this style of skull. I believe that these were produced later on in the war.
It's difficult to tell from the picture whether it is an em tab w/officer piping added or truly an officers version - has anyone seen an officer's version?

FredAttached Files
