Belt with totenkopf marking, pure fantasy?

Hello, I suppose the marking is post war fantasy. Any opinion?

    Thanks

Not a pure fantasy. The scull marking did exist but this example/pattern is totaly wrong.

Here is a legit one stamped at ammo pouch for MP28 (or something like this).

When I was a young collector back in the late 1970s and early 1980s, I used to have dealers whisper to me to come over and see what they had special for an "SS Collector"... they would pull out all sorts of belts, Y-straps, field equipment stenciled, marked, stamped, etc. with skulls and runes. I have NEVER believed this stuff and never will. I have seen a lot of crazy things done to a pair of Y-straps over the years, just to double or quadruple the price, and as far as I'm concerned, that is all it is about. The piece above doesn't look good to me either - very funny and crude skull.

I agree that the item that started this thread is a fraud but it was period done.
The following examples I bought in Europe and illustrates what such a skull is supposed to look like!
This is an 100% original early SS-VT period K98 ammo pouch IN BROWN leather obviously and marked for Totenkopf use.
Fakers would never bother to mark brown pouches this way as these would be worth a lot for DAK collectors!

                  inside

Here's the inside TK unit property stamp, which was very common on prewar gear, especially K98 pouches, as there were no security issues... Note the SS flashes under the skull, just like the embossed outer markings!

                    another example

It was not unusal for prewar SS-VT (TK troops) to be issued brown pouches, here's another neat example I own with a slightly different "TK" unit stamp.
This pouch (again an early prewar example in brown) does not have the skull SS marked on the outside and the interior markings on this one are slightly different. Such unit property markings are common of these pouches (WW1, Reichswehr and early prewar Heer) SS is just very exotic, so watch out for fakes!

some like the skull markings some not, I like them as long as they are original.
