      Question: Why are some soldiers wearing the odal runes while others wear the SS runes? Was there an actual reason or was it simple due to date or supply problems?

          I believe these are "canteen shots" or KB shots. Also several of the shots are NEARLY the same as ones in the Munin Verlag "bildband" volume (ie the construction of the pontoon bridge ...mine is at a different angle & stage in the process. These are 100% original photos...printed on Agfa paper. They were also in the book a long time...see the yellowing of the tape used to secure (damage) them?

              Kriegsberichter shots or yes canteen company bought shots...heres another example. This is from the Prinz Eugen bildband pg 21 top. Above it is a pic from my album.My pic shows the officers in front of the guys marching. Look at terrain, exact same colum of men just from a different angle

                      now that is interesting re the different angles of pictures and their distribution. these moments were like photo shoots, with many pictures circulating. i guess executions would result in a similar multiple of privately taken snaps. interesting thread...and congratulations on your luck!

                          Picture in post #18 , is also visible ( different angle ) in the book "when my brother are silent" I recognize the 2 soldier talking .
                          Great pictures , thank you for sharing them , great thing also , that someone saved them from an ultimate destruction
