It's always good to know who is selling these (and other) fakes. Not only can you keep track of where these are popping up (sometimes you can see patterns) but it lets you know who to stay away from and who to watch out for. These are pretty bad fakes, so either the person selling them is completely inexperienced with SS cloth, or is deliberately out to rip someone off... in both circumstances someone I want to steer clear of.
The blackened buckram could be a clue. I've seen that on other fakes as well.
Where in the hell did they get that idea anyway? Amazingly stupid - The faker goes out of his way to induce something that's generally not seen on originals.
As Gary pointed out tabs like these go every day on Ebay. Just type in the search word collar tab on ebay and you'll find tabs of similar construction and with the usual fake ageing.
It has been about 2 or 3 years since I did a search on eBay for any militaria. Got burned there a few times when I first started collecting, that was before I discovered WAF
