    Hi.

In my opinion this is a "fantasy"-product.

hi telemeco, fantasy means, someone made this idea up, no ss cloth patch looked like this, the nearest is the ss rune in the sheild on a helmet. these never existed, sorry, very obvious fake.

This piece is pure fantasy.....that means that it is not a copy of anything that was used by the SS. If you don't like the answers that you get about it being an imaginary piece, then don't post your stuff anymore, and just be happy with it. Why are you sure this is a copy of an original? Maybe if YOU supplied more information about why you think it's original, more people would be willing to help.

I just checked, and this badge is not in the Angolia book or any other book I have, for that matter. The construction doesn't resemble any period TR methods that I am aware of. That being said, I have not seen every example of TR embroidery.

post war embroidered through paper which is a post war method for this type of embroidery and tea bagged to make it look old and stop it glowing, there is no such period badge so in that it is a fantasy badge

How about, "because it looks nothing remotely like any piece of cloth insignia ever used by the SS during the Third Reich." In other words...a "fantasy" piece.

Then you don't know what you are talking about. Maybe, you should have bought a book on the subject instead.

Why not? A "fantasy" is something made up, which never existed. That is exactly what this is.

                        Maybe I didn´t explain myself.....

                        I wanted to hear this:

                        Horrido!

Can you see the differences between solid and no solid answers?

About the patch... I got it in Croatia... but later on I went to Bosnia and if this one looks like original (at least it looks old) there were a lot of new made on sell... because of that I think it should be an original one ... because the rest of the patches they sold they had an original as Medical corps, luftwaffen, ss,....
                        Any specialized in Handschar division?

                        Thanks to all of you

                          Your insignia item

                          Hello Telemaco,
It is my opinion, that you must continue to ask questions until you get the answer you are looking for. I hope you will feel free to post as many items as you like. Now, regarding your insignia....There is no proof that this patch is real or not real from the period. I must agree that it may be a creation of someone, and for that reason, it will never have much value or real collector interest. Perhaps someday a period photo will turn up, but I have my doubts that it will.
                          Best Regards, Peter

We don’t need to discuss too much for this one: the whole construction is typical of a modern patch, just put it side by side with any IIIrd R. one and look. This feature is more solid than concrete

                            Cheers

What you want to hear is of little matter. For a piece like this, the simple answer "fantasy piece" is more than adequate. You may think that this POS deserves more thorough discussion, but it does not. Moreover, as a new member, you may think that you deserve to demand that people you don't know hold your hand and spoon-feed you an education in this field without doing your own homework, but you do not.

Now, can you see the differences between a new member who will be receiving any answers from me in the future (solid or otherwise) and one who will receive no answers?
