Looks killer so far...could we get closer shots of the tags and markings? Thanks,

the only one I knew for a certainty was real looked exactly like this - except for the "reichsfuhrer SS ..." label - the smaller of the two here that you often see in peaked caps.

was it normally used in these early side caps? anyhow, congratulations to the owner.

The earlier caps had the RF-SS bevo tags in them and later caps have no RF-SS tag and the Feldmutz fur SS black tag on the top,

My first pattern, with the embroidered M29 eagle never had any tags at all!

thanks bob. the one I mentioned belonged to a boyhood friend - the son of an AP reporter (later army officer) who'd accompanied german troops into austria. he'd
managed to bring home the sidecap, a transitional helmet (pigskin liner and stamped "ss-heimatschutz") and an austrian-made, silver-liner'd em ss schirmmutze. I saw these in the early '60s and you could they made an impression. in nearby woods, we used to shoot the mint commercial .22 walther ppk his dad got during the war.

The tag. Can anyone tell me the maker?
