SS bullion runic tab twist cord piping glows

I recently received this SS bullion tab from a fellow forum member. I know that it has been previously discussed, and all comments were positive. Unfortunately, blacklight reveals that the cording of the twist cord piping glows a bright icy white and the and the outer layer of the twist piping is not aluminum thread as I would expect, but a type grey thread. This is not evident in the photograph and I only noitice it using a 10x loupe.

I have been in contact with the seller and he is very co-operative and open to me posting this for comments.

So, I am posting it here for your comments and thoughts on the cording material only, whether it is post-war or not.

    Under the blacklight

For the record, the bullion thread on the runes does not glow at any point where it has worn away.

    Your collar tab!

The ruins are great, 100%, however when I originally saw the tab I thought the piping did not seem to match the wear on the ruins. They say "if it glows, it goes". Take off the piping and you still have a nice collar tab....probably how it started off in the first place.

I one of those who said it was original. The rune tab itself is original and a nice one IMO.
However there is a possibility that the piping could be an upgrade, either war time done or a post war add to make it more fancy.

They did use some synthetic materials that glowed during WW2 as well so a positive black light test its not a definite proof of it being a post war piping.

You have an advantage of holding it in your hands for close examination.
