Interesting pic.
Buchmann is not one of the Officers pictured.
He was from 1939 to 1940 as Sturmbannfuhrer,
before his misdeeds led to his "retirement" and
Reserve status

Fred, I believe you are correct. If I am wrong, I'm sure someone will chime in.
BTW, on page 411, Angolia states it is believed that US / R for Radolfzell, and US / L for Lauenburg were the only SS unterfuhrerschule to wear the US / X cyphers. Mollo, in volume 7 only shows US / R and US / L.

Reason: Correct spelling.
These cyphers in the form of Latin letters US were only for use in waffen-ss.
I agree with Alain, the cyphers US/... were used only for two unterfuhrerschule waffen-ss US/R for Radolfzell, and US/L for Lauenburg. For the rest of the unterfuhrerschule waffen-ss, a cyphers in the form of one Latin letter S was probably used.
Hi Nick,
on all the pics of Unterführerschule Arnheim I've seen, some of the instructors wear the Germania cuff and/or the G-cypher on the boards. None with the US-A on their boards...
But who knows, maybe one day photografic evidence pops up?
