All insignias are originals, but reattached as you say. It is for sure the same jacket as started this thread. The big question, or perhaps not so big any more, is if the jacket itself is original. After my investegations, and with a lot of help from very knowledgeable collectors in SS panzer wraps, is that the base jacket is not ok, or at least has some very big issues. From my experience and investegation in the base jacket could not possibley be real. Check out the front button closure and under, and you will find a material that is not original war time even if altered or resewn, or restored. Thats how it is IMHO.

If you got it for the price of the insignias only, it might be ok, otherwise return it.

The story from the initial poster might be honest, but does in the end not hold water. Another barn find fantasy.

I agree with you. the basic tunic looks not good to me. It`s not the SS cut.

        kind regards

It is cut in the SS way, but it is a very clever and aged fake IMHO.

If it is a replica, then often there will be several clones out there. And wouldnt the fakers make the tunic look perfect, without this strange cut at front?!

In post 47, the reinforcing material is a modern non-woven material which did not exist wartime.
